A private unplugging experience

Digital detox retreats. A little more life, offline.

A few days without the feed. Time for conversation, unhurried meals, open air and the freedom to be where you actually are.

The experience

Not another thing to keep up with.

A digital detox retreat doesn't have to be a strict timetable or a lesson in using your phone less. Switchoff Society is a considered pause from constant connection, designed for people whose lives are always on.

This isn't about rejecting technology. It's about putting it back in its place for a while. Your smartphone goes away for the stay; the pressure to respond to every notification goes with it. What remains is a beautiful setting, good company and room to choose how you spend your time.

How it unfolds

A little less noise. A little more choice.

01

Arrive and put your phone away.

Check in, settle in and hand over your smartphone for safekeeping. The details of each stay will be shared before any booking opens.

02

Stay reachable for what matters.

You'll receive an SOS Phone with a dedicated number to share with the people who may need you. Calls and texts remain possible. Browsing and social feeds can wait.

03

Make the time yours.

A walk, something made with your hands, a meal around one table or an hour with a book. The activity mix will depend on the retreat; nothing needs to become another obligation.

Who it's for

For people with too many open tabs.

Founders, creators, professionals, business owners, parents and anyone who rarely gets a moment without a screen. Come for the company or for the quiet. The point is not to do more; it is to be more present for what you choose.

James Blake, a television presenter and internet entrepreneur, created Switchoff Society after feeling the fatigue of living and working online. It is the kind of short escape he had been looking for himself.
